" There is a lesson " says this message !!!

There is a story of about a sea captain who, in his retirement, skippered a boat taking day-trippers to Shetland islands.

On one trip, the boat was full of young people. They laughed at the old captain when they saw him say a prayer before sailing out, because the day was fine and the sea was calm.

However they weren't long at sea when a storm suddenly blew up and the boat began to pitch violently. The terrified passengers came to the captain and asked him to join them in prayer.

But he replied, "I say my prayers when it's calm. When it's rough I attend to my ship."

Here is a lesson for us......

If we cannot seek God in quiet moments of our lives, we are not likely to find him when trouble strikes. We are more likely to panic. But if we have learnt to seek him and trust him in quiet moments, then most certainly we will find him when the going gets rough.

Who else or how else , the presence of GOD be established ?

Read it full......... Don't miss even a single word....
An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem
science has with God, The Almighty.
He asks one of his new students to stand and.....

Prof:
So you believe in God?

Student:
Absolutely, sir.
Prof
Is God good?

Student:
Sure.

Prof:
Is God all-powerful?

Student
Yes..
Prof:
My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him.
Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn't.
How is this God good then?
(Student is silent.)
Prof:
You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella. Is God good?

Student:
Yes.
Prof:
Is Satan good?

Student
: No.

Prof:
Where does Satan come from?
Student:
From....God...

Prof:
That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?

Student:Yes.

Prof:
Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything. Correct?

Student:
Yes.

Prof:So who created evil?
(Student does not answer.)
Prof:
Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible
things exist in the world, don't they?

Student:
Yes, sir.

Prof:
So, who created them?(Student has no answer.)

Prof:
Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the
world around you.
Tell me, son...Have you ever seen God?

Student:No, sir.

Prof:
Tell us if you have ever heard your God?

Student:
No, sir.
Prof:
Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God? Have you
ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?

Student:
No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Prof:
Yet you still believe in Him?

Student:
Yes.
Prof:
According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your
GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?

Student:
Nothing. I only have my faith.
Prof:
Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.

Student:
Professor, is there such a thing as heat?

Prof:
Yes.
Student:
And is there such a thing as cold?

Prof:
Yes.
Student:
No sir. There isn't.
(The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)

StudentSir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat,
white heat, a little heat or no heat.. But we don't have anything
called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but
we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold .
Cold is only a word we use to describe the
absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy Cold is not
the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it .
(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)

Student:
What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

Prof:Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?

Student :You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can
have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light.....But if
you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it's called
darkness, isn't it? In reality, darkness isn't. If it were you would
be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?

Prof:So what is the point you are making, young man?

Student:
Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Prof:
Flawed? Can you explain how?

Student:Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is
life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You are
viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can
measure. Sir, science can't even explain a thought.. It uses
electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully
understood either one.To view death as the opposite of life is to be
ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.
Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it.

Now tell me, Professor. Do you teach your students that they evolved
from a monkey?
Prof:
If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.

Student:
Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize
where the argument is going.)
Student:
Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and
cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you
not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a
preacher? (The class is in uproar.)
Student:
Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's brain?
(The class breaks out into laughter.)

Student
Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain, felt
it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according
to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol,
science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir,
how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face
unfathomable.)

Prof:
I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.

Student:
That is it sir... *The link between man & god is FAITH *. That is all
that keeps things moving & alive.

NB: I believe you have enjoyed the conversation...and if so...you'll
probably want your friends/colleagues to enjoy the same...won't
you?.... this is a true story, and the *
student was none other than ....... *

Tomato Story

A Jobless man applied for the position of 'office boy' at Microsoft.
The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.

'You are employed' he said. Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.

The man replied 'But I don't have a computer, neither an email'.

'I'm sorry', said the HR manager. If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job.'

The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate.

He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours,

he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the operation three times,
and returned home with $60.

The man realized that he can survive by this way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled everyday.

Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.

5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US
He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance.

He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan.
When the conversation was concluded the broker asked him his email.
The man replied,'I don't have an email.'
The broker answered curiously, 'You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an e mail?!!' The man thought for a while and replied, 'Yes, I'd be an office boy at Microsoft!'

Moral of the story

Moral 1

Internet is not the solution to your life.

Moral 2

If you don't have Internet, but work hard, you can be a millionaire.

Moral 3

If you received this message by email,
you are closer to being an office boy/girl, than a millionaire..........

Lol, its a funny message i thought i would share it with my blog buddies :)

BUTTER VERSUS MARGARINE

For years, we have been discouraged from eating butter, largely due to its high fat and calorie content and nutritionists have often suggested margarine as a healthier substitute. How ever a recent study suggests the contrary. Although they both are sources of fat, butter and margarine contain different types of fat which is important when deciding which one of the two is a healthier option suggests the study.

What is margarine??

It is used as a substitute for butter and it contains saturated fats. These are produced when hydrogen is heated in order to harden vegetable oils. It is often claimed that margarine contains poly unsaturated fats that contain omega3 and omega6 oils which are essential fatty acids, but the body cannot manufacture them. How ever, the high temperature needed to produce margarine destroys vitamin E and other nutrients left in the oil. The final product contains trans fatty acids which increase inflammation in the body. One of its supposed virtues is that it helps reduce cholesterol levels in the blood stream and there by afford some protection from cardiovascular conditions such as heart diseases and strokes.

Difference between margarine and butter :

Both contain the same amount of calories. Butter contains natural fats which are essential for strengthening the bones and has many nutritional benefits.

Ill effects of margarine:

Excess intake of margarine can worsen illness such as colitis and arthritis. The hardening agents used in the production of margarine include nickel and cadmium that when consumed in excess causes lung and kidney problems. It may contribute to serious diseases such as arteriosclerosis , high blood pressure and malignancy.

Solution:

The best way to control the rising cholesterol levels is by eating everything in moderation and not anything in excess. All products such as eggs, full cream milk, etc contain minerals and proteins which are essential for the bones and cutting out these will only lead to further health hazards.

So eat healthy and stay fit!

GOD WILL NEVER GIVE UP ON YOU...

One day I decided to quit...

To quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality. ...

I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

"God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"

His answer surprised me...

"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"

"Yes", I replied.

When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.

I gave them light. I gave them water.

The fern quickly grew from the earth.

Its brilliant green covered the floor.

Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.

But I did not quit on the bamboo.

In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.

And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed.
But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said.

"In the third year, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In the fourth year, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. "I would not quit." He said. "Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth.

Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant. ... But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.

It had spent the five years growing roots.

Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."

He said to me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots."

"I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you. " Don't compare yourself to others .." He said. " The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern ... Yet, they both make the forest beautiful."

Your time will come, " God said to me. " You will rise high! "
How high should I rise?" I asked.

How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.

"As high as it can? " I questioned.

" Yes. " He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can. "

I left the forest and bring back this story. I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.

He will never give up on you. So you Never give up on yourself

GET PEACHY !!

Originally from China, peaches are rich in anti-oxidants like carotenes, potassium, flavonoids, lycopene and natural sugars which are known to prevent heart disease, ulcers, anemia and liver infections among other ailments.

Peaches are juicy with sweet flesh, and you can tell the quality of a peach by its firmness and blemish-free appearance. They are high in vitamin A and C content and are a great option if you're on a diet to lose weight. Peaches help eliminate worm infestation from your intestinal tract there by avoiding serious ailments.

Another benefit of this wonder fruit is its advantage for people who regularly suffer from a bad stomach. Since peaches are high in water and dietary fiber, they have laxative qualities that aid the digestive process. Eat peaches regularly if you wish to regulate your bowel movements alleviate fluid retention and promote regular passage of urine.

Some experts say that the carotenoids present in peaches protect the eyes from the harmful effects of sunlight and prevent or slow down the progression of cataracts.

So eat lotsa peaches and get peachy :)

DO NOT THINK THAT I HAV...

Quit blogging...Here i come with much more interesting and many many things to talk about! A short story of why i hadn't been blogging all the while would be my post for today as a start up.

Well..I'm really happy to share with you all that i have successfully completed my 4 yrs of engineering in first class with distinction. And that my brother has got an admission at ICFAI, hyderabad and its already been a month and a half since he's left home. Since then, its just been "ME" at home attracting all the attention possible from mum and dad...which in a way has been really good but at times different(not bad) !
My limitless but limited vacation has been absolutely enjoyable and useful and i just didn't find the time to pool in my thoughts as and then. I had spent the first few days of my holidays painting and drawing....trying out new different art works....one of them being the glass embossing. Glass painting was another thing that i tried this time which turned out to be a wonderful pass time. I had the chance to learn a special kolam(rangoli) called "sahasra dhala padmam" meaning 1000 petal lotus from my granny. Though i knew and drew such rangolis at ease usually...this one required a special way of drawing it. Lot of calculations and dimensions that would exactly bring 1000 petals had to be done before starting it. Coloring it was even calculative and consumed a lot of time but i loved every moment creating this piece of art :)
I guess i would have taken a week's time to complete it but now it would remain on the wall beautifully framed for ever to boast about my painting skills... lol!

The next few days i went shopping ...enjoyed myself lazying around ...eating...movie watching...facebooking...orkutting...and tweeting(my latest addiction) and happily spent those days having absolute fun!

A few days in Bangalore was my next plan and it was so much fun! I even maintained a travelogue so that i could get back and post it in my blog but there was so much to do and enjoy there...that i totally forgot to complete it :P Never the less i still remember the entire trip and may be i would write it as a different post later.

Back home then and had to get my marksheets and certificates from college...doing this job was quite irritating as chennai's heat was taking a toll but then meeting friends in college was fun!

So all said and done, Its going to be a blogging spree for a while now and i am happy that i started it today! Keep looking for posts on novels...movies...recipes...photography and music!

CHEERS !!
