Friendship isn't always easily described. The Eskimos, they say, have a hundred different words for snow. Unfortunately, the English language isn't quite as innovative, though it has vast opportunities to differentiate meaning. Certainly, Love is one of those opportunities. And so, too, is Friendship.

Instead of different words, however, we're stuck with simple adjectives. Close friend. Best friend. Childhood friend. Intimate friend. Trusted friend. Beloved friend. But whether you use adjectives or different words, few could deny the nearly infinite meaning in such a simple word.

Friends are special people. We can't pick our family, and we're sorely limited in the number of them at any rate. Society and mores (and often our own conscience) dictate we select a single mate. But our friends can be as diverse and infinite as the adjectives we choose. Our friends, in a very real sense, reflect the choices we make in life.

In the walk of life you will find several people. Some are there with you only for a momentary phase while other walk the path of life with you for a considerable distance. Friends come and go. But it requires true courage and spirit to be friends forever and to walk the journey of life till the end. As a Jewish saying goes- "Who finds a faithful friend, finds a treasure". But it is not easy to find this treasure. Only very fortunate ones succeed in achieving it; once it is found try your best not to loose it. An anonymous author very aptly described friends forever as- "Some people come into our lives and quickly go.

Some stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same." A true friend is someone who understands you even without your having to explain anything- someone who understands you and cares for you.

If you feel a pain in your heart when you see a tear in your friend's eye, if your friend is more happy than you to see you successful, then you must understand that you have found a friend forever. A true friend is someone with whom you do not have to make an effort to share your thoughts. The mental harmony between true friends comes naturally. If effort is at all required then it is not true friendship. People might claim to be your true friends. Declarations are easy to make. But it's only the person who is your friend forever, who will stand with you through the thick and the thin.

I still remember the first time, Shalini(my best frnd) compelling me with a spoon full of this (never heard of dish) corn florentine, forcing me to taste it atleast once and then, poor gal, she had to order another one for herself after that! lol! And now, u ask me wat's my favourite continental dish, everybody who knows me well wud shout out this name 'corn florentine'.
Shalini, This is a really special post dedicated to you dear(lol). Among the so many very-spl-moments that we've had together trying out new dishes at new places, EDEN and corn florentine will always bring a smile on my face and ofcourse YOU for "all the .......memories" associated wid eden! :P :P

This one’s not for those on a diet. Or, for someone trying to go on one. The Corn Florentine celebrates everything cheese. Nuggets of crisp corn and fragrant spinach fight for space in this creamy baked dish.

The base is made of cream, milk, butter (lots if it) and flour and once the corn and spinach go in, it is gratinated with cheese. The end result is a glorious stand-alone dish that makes for great comfort food. It is served with plain toast. And, Indianising this Continental dish a bit is the addition of garlic and pepper. If you are terribly health-conscious, they do a version with brown sauce! Also available at the Besant Nagar (24460777) and Anna Nagar (26221010) branches.

A REASON TO CELEBRATE ...

Hey people... Its been so long since i'd posted something on my blog...But then you must understand that i had been busy concentrating on something more important. So here comes this week's post and i must say, i am very happy to post about something that made my week an eventful one.

Yess...I for the first time in my four years of college life, attempted to do a paper presentation which had been keeping me away from all my routein work of blogging, orkutting, tweeting chatting...etc! But ofcourse, as they always say, Hard work always pays and my hardwork in this new venture turned out to be fruitful! I and my friend Krithika won 2nd place in the TECH TALK event conducted by the MCA department of SRM university which was held on the 3rd and 4th of september. And today, i'm happily writing this post as a start to another week full of daily blogging :P

A special thanks to Dhruv And Shalini who had been kind enough to come and encourage us thru out the day and yeah, for all the fun we had, to celebrate that evening! I hope we do a lot more presentations before our college life cums to an end!

VERONIKA DECIDES TO DIE

Hi people :) This blogging has been taking most of my free time lately. But i am happy that i am able to keep my blog updated every alternate day. Thanks to Mitran, one of my close pals who inspired me to write posts daily and keep it going. My goodness, have a look at his blog and u will be surprised to see more than 40 posts been posted in less than a month! After seeing this, i thought, why not do the same...and here my blog...as u can see, is updated as frequently as possible.

Well well...i can see you wondering what has the title got to do with my post...Don't you worry ppl...As i said, this post is to update on what i'm doing at the moment. And As the title states, i am reading Paulo Coelho's "VERONIKA DECIDES TO DIE", another inspirational novel . The story is so far so gud and i wud finish reading it by this weekend. Keep looking for my review on this book that will be posted soon!

ALL THE FUN...COMING TO AN END....!

Its been such a wonderful week or i wud say...a great start for this academic year actually!

As you all know, My department symposium 'CRESSIDA 2K9' had turned out to be a grand success which gives me immense happiness and a reason to celebrate this weekend.

As far as i remember, its been nearly 2 weeks since i attended my classes. Thanks to Shalini(my close pal-one of the so called event coordinators for our event Manuscript) who made sure that we bunked all classes to carry out our event works well in advance. Thanks to Dhruv( another coordinator and my best friend) who made sure that the works were done during the leisure time and the class hours(that we bunked) were well utilised for fun and enjoyment alone! :P:P

Specially the last two days of CRESSIDA 2k9 were the most eventful days where we had great fun...I went to college in saree for the first time, another thing that was fun! I also happend to hav lunch at INFLUENCE, one of the expensive restaurants , as my frnd always says! Then the long drives back home chatting...wow! Everything was total fun!

But now, its all come to an end and i'm really going to miss it! And to add on to this sadness, we have our cycle tests starting from monday for which i havent even got my books! heheh!

Anyways...Hope i do well in all my tests this week. I might not be coming online much until my tests get over!
